#3 develop nativeness towards skills through practice
August 04, 2026
Nativeness towards a skill is developed when the inputs to the skill stop being the limiting factor to what you want or intend to do in that skill and only a medium through which you perform.
Like playing a game, when the controller stops being something you are consciously trying to press and instead you just think about what you want to do with the character in the game without any second thought about how you are going to achieve that, it comes to you. Like playing a sport, your physical body, your motor skills, your coordination, they all stop being something you think about. Like math or physics, where you start managing systems rather than equations about a problem set and not just trying a set of procedures given to you to solve a specific problem, where your knowledge transitions, evolves, into cross domain applicable concepts such that every solution starts becoming obvious to intuit, like how apple was supposed to fall, there was no other alternative to the question.
Look to create this evolution of nativeness through practice of every skill. The point where you're, without question, in control of the playable character, at a subconscious level. Almost automatic, yet intentional. Like you've meant to do it, like you were born to do it.
